Welcome to Serendipity (“Serendipity”, “we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Serendipity website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By accessing or using Serendipity, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, discontinue use immediately.

1. Eligibility

To use Serendipity, you must be:

  • At least 13 years old (or the minimum digital consent age in your jurisdiction), and
  • Legally capable of entering into binding agreements.

Users under 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

2. About Serendipity

Serendipity is a social location platform which notifies users when their selected contacts are nearby. Features may evolve over time.

3. Location Data

Serendipity uses location-based services but never shares your location with other users. By using the app, you acknowledge and agree that we collect, process, and use your precise or approximate location, to send “nearby” notifications to other users.

4. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Serendipity has no maps and never shares your location with other users. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data—including location information.
By using Serendipity, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Intellectual Property

Serendipity’s technology, branding, design, and content are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Services without our prior written consent.

6. Disclaimers

Serendipity provides the Services “as is”, without any warranties. We do not guarantee:

  • Accuracy or reliability of location data
  • Continuous, secure, or error-free operation
  • Safety or conduct of users you interact with

You use Serendipity at your own risk. We are not responsible for interactions, disputes, or harm caused by user behaviour.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law:

  • Serendipity is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability to you will not exceed the amount you paid (if any) in the previous 12 months

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; parts of this section may not apply to you.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Serendipity harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Services
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your interactions with other users

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Serendipity at any time for:

  • Violations of these Terms
  • Safety or security concerns
  • Fraudulent or unlawful behaviour
  • Inactivity or system abuse

You may delete your account at any time in the app.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are made, we will revise the “Last Updated” date and may notify you.
Your continued use of Serendipity after changes indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the UK, excluding conflict-of-law rules.
Disputes will be resolved in the courts, unless otherwise required by local law.
